I had the most incredible gourmet meal prepared by the one and only Stefan, (my daughter, Summer's sweetie). Get this....hor'dourves, portabello mushrooms with lump crab mixed with goat cheese, avo and topped with grilled red peppers. Then halibut and chicken with mango salsa, creamy mashers, aparagus, chocolate dipped strawberries, salad, beer, wine....WOW. I am so full. Such royal treatment and the company of my most favorite people in the world. Stefan said he would cook if Summer did the dishes. So she surpised him with paper plates. haha.

I LOVE YOU GUYS! What spilled out of my brain in less than 2 minutes each scares me. What is wrong with me?!?!?!

Here is the first:

-------------------
His tentative demeanor set ablaze a significant genesis of danger.

One knew. Only one heart beat sending waves that impend forth toward tomorrow. The catcher waited, crouched before the end of time that once was known.

Yesterday plucked him skyward though he struggled against the odds. Then all was remarkably apparent. Voiceless wisdom bathed completely what was spoken before.
-------------------

Here is the second:

-------------------
He was the antithesis of desire. Yet the window spent light through bodily fluids hanging loosely from his chin.

For a moment, just fragmented time, a full spectrum shown insistently against the vague walls within my mind. There was nothing to know about the situation.

The moment was blessed as I set forth armed with opinion, justified by want.
-------------------

I think I need a high colonic of the brain.

So sad

My poor little girl child doesn't think it is fair for the government to take so much of her hard earned money. It is a sad reality. People that honestly work so hard and give so much to society should really be given a break as a reward. Hey, who do I ask? Also, if you pay so much shouldn't you be given at least two days free labor from someone sucking off society? I just can't seem to make this make sense and I am the mom and need to explain it to my baby girl. I won't mention that Ken Lee thinks in addition to a turret and moat that there needs to be a catapult. She is a doll.

My Fabuleux Hanoverian Foal - Fortunette

My Fabuleux Hanoverian Foal - Fortunette
Originally uploaded by Robinq.

Happy day. That is great. She is mid-thirties, never been married. Good for her. She does like the finer things in life. I know that. So, as I would expect, there are two bridal registries that I would be "expected" to use instead of my giving what I would like to give. I can go along with that aweful idea once in a while just to be gracious. So, gracious I go on the way to the bridal shower and see that the most expensive towels in the universe are on the list. So, I go with the towels. I spend another 12 bucks getting the thing wrapped in a way that is definitely not me....to be gracious.

Soon after the shower, I graciously go online to the stupid Macy's bridal registry to get the wedding gift. The china is (as expected) the most expensive in the universe. At this time I am newly unemployed so I pick out a serving bowl. Stupid, expensive bowl and plain ugly. I pay extra for wrapping and shipping and track it to her door. For each gift, I received a thankyou from the bride. All is well. I am done giving the things in a way that I hate to give. I like to be creative and think of the person and give in the way that I give.

The other part that is irking is that the wedding was to take place in Maui so if one chose to go, the travel and lodging would probably total about $3000 - $5000 by the time all is said and done. Newly unemployed, the timing was not good for such an extravagant trip. The part I really didn't care for is that Grandma Dolores was in her last months. This was her only granddaughter. She had been so sick all year that it was never considered that she could travel, thus left out of the celebration. Is this selfish? I am trying to be positive.

So, now (8 months later), my husband, Gary, gets a call from his sister. She is saying how cheap it was that we gave NO gifts to Michelle for her wedding. She said she sort of understood because I was unemployed at the time but it did not look very good that our name was not on the registry list. (Is that rude for the store to give a list of how much everyone spent!) Anyhow, I guess that after 12 years she does not know that I have a different last name than her brother and it is such an odd name that you would think she would have noticed. But what the hell she was looking in the first place is beyond anything I can figure!

Now, what would you say when my sister-in-law calls. I left her a message to do so. I probably should not say what I have said over and over in my head. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME PEOPLE!!! And what is she doing snooping around in her daughters affairs and receipts? I guess she figured (and with such a tackful conversation with her brother) now that I have a new job that she could get me to cough up some money for the long passed wedding.

Please leave all responses here and I will mail my sister-in-law a multiple choice and she can choose how I respond to her wierdness.

OK, I am done venting now.

Can U Canoe?

Everyone should have a canoe. Last weekend we picked up the coolest toy. Since we live only 4 miles from a lake I can't believe we have been canoeless all this time! What a great thing to do in the evening. Take your dinner and a bottle of wine. AND…make sure you fall in and go for a swim. I love my canoe. I will post a picture of my burnt orange canoe in my ratty old blue Chevy pickup. It is more fun to go to the lake in a "beater" truck. We get such looks of sympathy. Anyhow, enough of my "cheap thrills". I have bred my beautiful Blood Bay and True Black Hanoverian mares to the outstanding FABULEUX. He is quite amazing which is enough in itself. BUT this week I see that he has been DNA tested for coat color and he cannot produce a Chestnut foal. YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! So now my odds of getting 1 Bay and 1 Black Fabuleux foal have greatly increased. Fabuleux must be EEAa because he is a dark bay. The "A" makes him a bay. But he has produced black so there is the "a" (if in fact the foal owners are reporting a "true non-fading" black like Finesse.) Now Finesse is the truest black ever but she had a chestnut filly so she is Eeaa. I believe Allianz is EEAA because she has had 5 foals and they have all been bay coloring. She could be hiding a chestnut or solid black recessive in there. We will see next year! Aren't you excited about this?

Indelible Memory 1978

Summer Solstice...the first day of Summer and the moon was full at exactly 5:21 a.m. over Royal Road in El Cajon.

I was at a beach party the afternoon and eve before in Leucadia, California...a house on Neptune Street. A perfect day and party. My friend plotted out the timing of the full moon as many believe there are more babies born at that time.

Sure enough! I awoke that morning, rolled my pregnant whale body over to glance at the digital clock. YICKS! It read exactly 5:21! Before I could blink, I felt my first contraction. The first day of Summer was here.

I had so much to do to get ready. I jumped in the shower and headed out to do the daily chores so they wouldn't be waiting for me after the birth. Shawn was again superman that day with his cape made from a towel. I noticed the f^%$^%$%ing goat was not on her tether. We were in a house high on a hill on Royal Road and that damn goat was a wee goat spot down that road as far as I could see. So there I am chasing down a goat probably 2 hours into labor (I only did 5 hours, mind you). I dragged that damn nanny back up the hill, she showed no mercy on my condition. At that moment I knew that she would be sold very, very soon. I made sure her new name would be Barby Q.

It was pretty soon that midwives arrived and I turned control over to Diane and Barbara. I am not sure where my husband was. A friend, Brent, was assigned to the camera. Thank goodness Greg, Diane's hubby, had camera and film because Brent became such a blubbering idiot that he forgot to put film in the camera. I think this whole birthing process was roughest on him!

It was the PERFECT and GENTLE birth, and I got my blonde haired, blue eyed babygirl.

This is a day I will celebrate into eternity. He died young in 1993. Sooooo, when I came across his daughter that looked just like him......how could I resist? I made a ridiculous offer and the owner told me to write a check. She is an artpiece of nature and will be bred to a remarkable Hanoverian stallion named Fabuleux for a 2006 baby (the breeding was included in the price). The picture is Finesse when she won Champion mare at the American Hanoverian Society 2002 inspection. She was third highest score for conformation and movement in 2002 for all the inpections that year. There were nearly 400 mares inspected that year so that is quite excellent!
